Notification of NTDE Use Adverse Action
If an adverse credit decision on your application for commercial service is based upon any information contained in the NTDE database, the member is required to disclose this fact to you. The member is also obligated to provide you with the things you need to obtain a copy of your NTDE report, specifically:
  • The toll-free telephone number to the NTDE Disclosure Center
  • The case number on your NTDE report
  • The NTDE report date
  • Any item number(s) from the NTDE report
Once you call the NTDE Disclosure Center with the necessary information, our representative will mail you a copy of the report that served, in whole or in part, as the basis for the member's credit decision. You will also receive a form that you can use to dispute any data on the report that you believe is inaccurate. Disclosure service via fax transmission is also available upon request.

Your Right to Dispute NTDE Data
You can initiate the dispute process by returning the appropriate form to the indicated address, along with any supporting documentation that you may have. The NTDE Disclosure Center will forward your allegations to the appropriate personnel for the member company who added the information to the database; they will research the matter and respond accordingly. If they update/delete the information that they originally supplied, any member who had received the previous incorrect information on a report will automatically receive notice that the record has been changed, enabling them to reconsider your credit request. If your efforts to change the data in NTDE are ultimately unsuccessful, you can put your own brief explanation/statement into the record and it will be reported whenever a member requests information on your company.
